Kanye West’s highly anticipated Ye Live concert in Johannesburg has been postponed, with organisers confirming that the 13 December show at Ellis Park will no longer go ahead as planned.
The announcement came after the original promoter, Monyake Group, revealed it is no longer involved in the event. The company said the concert has officially been transferred to Yeezy Production, which will now handle all future planning, communication and execution.
In a statement, Monyake Group said the transition was part of a broader strategic shift in how the show will be delivered. The public has been advised to wait for updated information directly from Kanye West’s official platforms, where a new date is expected to be announced.
Event curator Jay Carson also shed light on the decision, saying the postponement forms part of plans to scale up the show into a larger national and international production. According to him, the expanded format will allow for “a bigger vision”, including efforts to develop a nationally backed, officially endorsed concert.
TicketPro has confirmed that all purchased tickets, priced between R850 and R5 000, are eligible for full refunds. Concertgoers can apply for refunds directly through the platform while awaiting new details from Yeezy Production.
The Johannesburg performance had generated major interest from local fans, many of whom have been anticipating West’s return to the South African stage. For now, organisers say the show will still happen at a later date, with promises of a significantly upgraded production.
